No highchairs, no changing facilities, no babychino, no kid friendly menu...space yes but nothing else for the little ones so at last a baby free zone in ED!
  2. Sorry if I'm repeating old posts/suggestions but is there a way to rate users in the for sale section as both sellers and buyers? I'm getting so fed up of no shows...
  3. Apparently they're keeping the pub as a pub rather than turning it into a fancy bar...just upgrading and adding a hotel to maximise full potential of what is a huge building. Just what I've heard though so I could be wrong...
  4. I have had the same experience from several nurseries. I added my daughter to 6 lists when I was 7-8 months pregnant with her and to date (she'll be 2 next month) I've only heard from 3 of them despite paying the admin fee for 2 of the outstanding 3. When I told one that I was pretty p*ssed off having heard nothing for 2 years (not even a "you've been unsuccessful" email) they just said they were sorry I felt that way. Frankly I feel like most of the nurseries are complacent as they have a captive market in ED...no way to run any kind of business in my opinion.
  5. If you ever need a childminder, mine is great and it's a spanish / English speaking set up... PM me if interested...
  6. Having had two very windy babies I'm not sure a swing will help much. It could just be my two but the only thing that helped was being held and jiggled which was exhausting...not very helpful I'm afraid...I've heard good things about the hammock though...
  7. Try volunteer centre southwark (volunteercentres.org.uk) - they might be able to help or do-it.org.uk (a web based org to find local opportunities or maybe CSV.org.uk
  8. Try le chandelier if you want peace - they don't really encourage kids I'm there so it remains a mostly adult only area I believe and the food is nice too...
  9. Does anyone happen to know if the lifts are working yet? Thanks!
  10. Is there any way that you can change the order of messages so that the newest appear at the top thus avoiding scrolling to the last page to read the most up to date posts?
  11. Hi We flew 8-8 1/2 hour to Barbados when our daughter was 5 months old. Top tips I'd give are: 1. Miltons do cold water steriliser tablets : easy to carry and easy to use 2. Don't stress about sterilising though particularly if yours is over 6 months. Just make sure the bottle is clean. Maybe pour boiling water all over it if you're worried. 3. Take powder as well as cartons. Especially if you're going somewhere hot as they're likely to be thirsty. That said, you can give water too. I say this as we ran dangerously low when we were away! 4. Plan to open 50% of what you want to carry on the plane as you pass through security. We didn't have to but better safe than sorry. And definitely get your formula at the UK airport once you're through - boots had lots. 5. Take a baby bjorn or equivalent onto the plane as although you can take your buggy to the plane door here, they don't always bring it back when you get to your destination so juggling a baby plus all the hand luggage can be a challenge if you don't have a buggy. 6. Don't forget your mosquito net for your buggy / cot if you have one. 7. Go self catering or book a hotel room that has a separate room for your baby or you'll be in bed early every night whispering (!) plus one of you will be stuck in the hotel during daytime naps. That's all I can think of off the top of my head! Have a lovely holiday wherever you go!
  12. I can recommend Shutterbaby. Sara-Jane has a great approach - relaxed, friendly and very patient! We've just had some great shots of our 6 month old done and are very happy indeed! Highly recommended!
  13. We took our own and ordered passport size versions online. Worked a treat!
  14. I'm sure it's been said but...great route but just not enough of the buses. I always seem to have to wait 20 minutes regardless of time of day. Increase the number of buses on this route please!
  15. I was suspicious so asked... "Thank you for your recent e-mail. I would like to advise you that we are in fact doing door-to-door mailings/sign-ups at present and the representatives that are marketing the service are from LOVEFiLM & genuine."
