Hi damzel. Just to say I recently got glasses for my 8month old locally. I wasn't happy with the fit and went to the opticians in the western eye (as recommended by my opthalmologist). There is a lady there called Jane that is excellent and ordered a far superior fitting pair for my son. So, if you can face the schlep worth the trip (185 then change to the 2 to marylebone). Good luck.

My son, 4.5yo, had an eye test recently at Roger Pope in Dulwich Village, and the optician (as well as all of the other staff) was absolutely lovely - a dad himself and just really put my son at ease which I felt was no easy feat with all the high tech equipment that can feel (even to me as a grown-up) very invasive.

My son turned out not to have any problem with his sight, so it was only an eye test, but my husband has been happy with his (complicated prescription) glasses from them.

Hope this helps!

    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.  Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. • We worked with Eliot recently to get two sets of shelves built. He was excellent! Really high quality craftsmanship, communicative and lovely - I’d recommend Langley Carpentry in a heartbeat.
    • How about trying the upstairs of some local pubs like EDT? They prob won't stay open until wee small hours but worth a try... or night at Rivoli Ballroom Catford (too old?!) or somewhere up in town for drinks rather than hiring somewhere.
    • Sadly crime does seem to be going up in terms of opportunists and street crime / bike thefts etc. Lack of CCTV in this area means it's more of a target than some neighbouring areas according to police (when they sent victim support round after our car had its catalytic converter stolen twice in 6 months by organised gang complete with balaclavas, iron bars and a chainsaw.. driving a 4x4). Crime still relatively low by some parts of London standards but a worrying trend if burglars are trying their luck when people are actually home. Wonder what local police/ MP thoughts are in terms of whether they could organise more community policing patrols. I read a woman was punched in the face on/near Lordship Lane in an unprovoked attack a week or two ago. Terrifying.
