I've googled this and following instructions have deleted programs and extensions .And run an adware removal programme .

But it's still there ,driving me crazy .

I have McAfee and Malwarebytes anti malware installed on my windows 8 system . The Malwarebytes just keeps crashing .

Anyone any simplish advice ?

Thanks nashoi . I spent a long time yesterday trying to run Malwarebytes in safe mode but it wouldn't launch .

I did do a system restore and then had to delete all the suspect programmes and extensions again .

Nothing seemed to work but I run a maintenance check as prompted and that eventually seemed to get rid . But can't help thinking it'll reappear .

But thanks for help ,others had ppreviously suggested safe mode but I hadn't understood that they meant to run Malwarebytes in safe mode .

    • Ah, thanks,  it all comes flooding back. I've actually been to the Hastings shop, I'd forgotten all about it, along with her name! Didn't she (in between?)  take over what  was then The Magnolia, previously The Magdala, now The Lordship, with her then partner? Or is that some figment of my imagination?  In fact, didn't they transform it from The Magdala (much missed) to The Magnolia? With flowery wallpaper covering the front of the bar? Which reminds me of the pub's brief period after The Magnolia  as the ill-conceived and ill-fated The Patch.

    • A belated recommendation for Iain and Paul od Oddbods who came to help me with various jobs before Christmas.  Painting ceiling, renewing silicone around bath, repairing a window sill which was almost beyond repair and hanging a large mirror.   Very happy with their work and they are friendly and very reliable and excellent at communicating.  No hesitation in recommending them.
