Our home was burgled yesterday and thought it would be useful to share. Has anyone spotted anyone walking with a brown leather holdall at any point yesterday afternoon-night, or throwing it into a car. Possibly still wearing gloves. They entered and exited through the sash window at the front of the house. Police said our area is a favourite for burglars because of all the easy sash windows.
So sorry this happened to you. On Oxenford street and oglander road same this has been happening, broad daylight scum levered sash windows open. Those screw locks that go right through either side of window is poss best for sash windows. Hope the scum get caught by a nice quiet German shepherd.

Very sorry you were burgled.

You can get window locks for sash windows which enable you to still open the window in the Summer a little way at either the top or the bottom to let in air.

Not sure whether a determined burglar couldn't still get in, but at least they might be a deterrent.

The police do take this seriously

There are online sites where the data is loaded so that you can see it and patterns can be monitored. There are successes but there's always the next person who thinks crime pays more than an education and a job. Like local foxes, one goes and another takes its place

Set up Neighbourhood watch groups and you'll get everything delivered via e-mail. To have a group registered with a NHW contact person:

The operative word is NEIGHBOUR not watch. Just talk to your neighbours, it's a normal thing to do

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
