Wanted - odd job man

Hilip

Recommended Posts

I am looking for an odd job man to do two (quite different!) things:

1. Help me narrow a flower bed in our front garden (the flower bed has a brick surround) and removing a large wooden flower box.

2. Taking up and replacing a small piece of board (think it is MDF or similar) that is in our cupboard under the stairs.

If you think you could help please let me know. Thanks!

Hi

My name is David Jones. I am a reasonably priced local decorator/ handyman. I'm new to the East Dulwich forum but please feel free to read this latest recommendation from the Herne Hill Forum so you can see I can provide a quality service:

I would like to recommend David Jones - mentioned above, who I found on this forum after needing someone to do a "very detailed and delicate remedial tiling job in our bathroom". David was very friendly and professional.

Will definitely use David again if needed.

Any queries please feel free to PM me.

    • I understand that, but I can't really grasp how it works in practice, but never mind 😵‍💫
    • It's local independent shops supporting one another.
    • Adding my recommendation for Niko too. Found his number on here and he came out at short notice on a busy weeknight to help us with a kitchen sink issue that had flooded our kitchen that day. Really helpful, responsive and went out of his way to fit us in and help us out. Very reasonably priced too - would thoroughly recommend!
    • Looks like it! Though according to the OP, they are "golden, hand-crimped parcels  packed with flavour" 😀 I don't understand. Admittedly my brain is functioning at a very low level at the moment. Does that mean various local shops get together and agree to offer a discount to anyone who shows them a receipt from one of the other ones dated the same day? I can't see what's in it for either of them, unless people shop somewhere they wouldn't otherwise have done just to get the discount. Is it for vaguely  linked things, say cheese from a cheese shop, wine from another shop? Showing my age there.  And then suppose it's always the same shop which people go to second to get the discount? What's in it for the first shop? People go there in order to get the discount in the second shop?
