Now where are the photos that Outoffocus took? Does he manage to tag people in them? It would help no end!!!

He'll post a link to his flickr page once he's uploaded them, if usual form is followed. No tagging, though, allows for a bit of anonymity (plus maybe coaxing more people to future drinks if they really want to know who's who ;-))

Yes, I can see the benefits of not tagging. People should be encouraged to come along to figure out who's who.

Don't know if I was going about it the wrong way - but I concentrated on learning real names and although I remember a few of the screen names too, I am now a bit lost. I definitely spoke to more people than the screen names I recognise. But I suppose it all adds to the fun! Don't be offended if I don't seem to remember you just from your screen names...:-$

Gen17 - it's a perennial problem. People have become genuine, day-to-day bona-fide friends and after a year they still instinctively call each other by forum names

Names-schmames - if you meet people and look forward to seeing them again then that;s the main thing I reckon.

Glad you enjoyed it so much

Just about recovered now as Steph and myself decided it was a great idea to stay up chatting and drinking brandy until....oooh....sixish:-$.

Sorry for being so predictable and talking about kids Quids. I really must get another dimension to my life!!

    • Your point?  Why did you buy it, don't you have a mind of your own??
    • Me and my wife went to Holland & Barrett yesterday and bought some protein powder for our 16-year-old grandson who is going to the gym at The Dulwich Leisure Centre regularly with his friends. We chose a different brand for him as his usual was unavailable and noticed that it had 18 on the packaging. When we checked with the two assistants they just asked if he had taken it before and when we said yes, they said that it was OK for him.  Doing some research online today we now know it is not safe for him and can cause kidney damage.  We didn't know about this before as his friends were all taking it too so we thought it was fine. Those assistant mislead us and that's very wrong of Holland & Barrett, they just wanted the sale of £13.50. We will be making a complaint to their head office.
    • It's standard procedure by all accounts.  Airports are very different to routine policing.  Obviously they may reconsider procedures particularly due to the negative publicity. Sadly social media (and streaming) has facilitated fake news, mistruths, toxic behaviour and hate crime. As for banter and irony, I know too well that what I think is a funny comment on this site may be misinterpreted.  Lineham has quite a long history of saying things that many will find offensive.
    • I don't think they were armed specifically  to arrest him. I think airport police are routinely armed? However I agree the rest of it was absolutely ridiculous and completely out of proportion to the supposed "crime". The Met commissioner had it right.
