A charity Christmas single has been released, up against the likes of the X factor!!! Yes, I know it is crazy.

It is being done in support of Starlight (who grant wishes to terminally and seriously ill children) to help them to raise funds and awareness for their cause. The project has actually helped to grant 3 wishes, Bianca Nicolas who sings the song, has Cystic Fibrosis and is the loveliest girl ever - she made it to boot camp in this years X factor! Also joining her are Katrina who suffers from leukemia and Sophie Roberts who has a brain tumour, both girls wish was to be a pop star for the day.

There?s no commercial machine behind this so they need the power of the people ? you, me and all our friends - to get Bianca into the charts.

Bianca is donating all profits to Starlight. ?Making this Christmas single was so exciting for me and the icing on the cake is that sales from this record will go onto help other seriously ill children live their dreams too!?

Generous people have gotten involved to help write, record, produce and make a video, now they just need to chart it ? so please, please can you download the song and help them make the top 40 (it is only 69p)!!!

Download from HMV (69p) here (once you have clicked on the below link scroll to the bottom of the page and buy the ?radio edit? version)

Order a CD from HMV (?2.99)

Watch the video on YouTube here.

You can listen to the track here.

Lets have a proper charity Christmas Song top the charts this Christmas.

(Please don?t download more than 4 times from the same IP address as this could flag up irregular buying patterns and disqualify the single from chart count!!)

Dear Dulwich Mum

I believe this is the most imprortant post ever for two reasons

1 It Supports a worthy charity

2 It may well wipe that smug grin of Cowels face and stop it being yet another x-factor Christmas no 1.

(Please Santa for Christmas can we have a normal single at no 1 this year !!!)

KK, I would prefer the Smurfs 'blue' christmas single at no 1 then another bluming x-factor Christmas no 1.... nothing against the singer (whatsername) but please Christmas is commercial enough without some smarmy TV producer making it all about his latest find (even though it has been 4 months in the finding)

However this year I agree with DM lets get Bianca into the charts with her rendition of 'Ricky' (I haven't listened to the download yet so I am guessing what the song is about)

    • This is simply untrue. The area is not 2/3 storeys maximum. Hambledon Court is on the other side of tracks from the Jewson site on Burrow Rd, is 8 storeys, and is barely known (let alone bothersome) to most people in East Dulwich. Felbridge House, Petworth House etc on the opposite side of the station from the new development are all 5 storeys tall. East Dulwich Charter (which neighbours the new development) is itself 4-5 storeys (depending on which block you're talking about). What's more, Hambledon Court was finished in about 1978 iirc and no-one has built anything similar around here since then - so the "slippery slope" "genie in the bottle" argument doesn't work either. You can't simultaneously argue that Southwark is too slow in approving new construction but also suggest this will lead to a flood of new high-rise housing! At current rates of approval, we can expect our next 8 storey building to arrive in...2072!
    • I checked - the Hanway Street place was Mandeer - it moved to New Oxford Street I think and was replaced by Hakkasan - very different prices.
    • Suppose it depends on how many Christmas cards from family and friends you’re waiting to receive. It’s been the Christmas period so surely give the post delivery service some leeway. Like Sue I’ve not posted off so many this year but some I still write letters to  e.g my late mum’s cousins and other family  but hey ho that’s something I do and enjoy.  I used to hand deliver Christmas cards to a lot of neighbours on my street but gave up this year as realised that most of them I don’t see or speak to and can only count on a few to call a true friend or neighbour.
