Chisora had Haye worried for a while! But Haye was too fast, too accurate, and too heavy-handed for Chisora to live with.

Time for Khan to step back and re-evaluate his standing in world boxing? Does he really belong in the top 4/5 of the LWW division? Maybe it's time to take on some of his domestic rivals around his weight class (Ricky Burns, Kell Brook, Gavin Rees, etc) and re-establish himself.

Haye did exactly what he said he'd do, I wonder how meaningful a comparison to Vitali's performance against Chisora is ? I wanted Chisora to win.

It was a good fight but Chisora looked pretty basic last night, maybe because Haye kept him off balance.

Although Haye was winning the earlier rounds, Chisora was always in it - until that left hook (great shot).

Be interesting now to see how Vitali wants to cement his legacy - with/without a contest against Haye. If he chooses not to fight Haye I think it'll always be a black mark in his book because he'll be seen as a ducker IMO, a bit like the stick Lennox got for retiring straight after he fought Vitali.

Khan v Brook. I'd rather see this in a couple of years when they're both on top. I'm really really keen to see Brook work his way through some Americans and a couple of Russians, and all the (hopefully) exciting contests that would occur. Khan is still at world title contention level so perhaps these two fight in a couple of years to unify, in a big football stadium in Northern England ?

Khan shouldn't go up to Welterweight like he was saying he would after 'clearing-up the LWW division' if he's getting KO'd at this weight.

Yeah, Harrison Price has been officially announced. I think we all expect another heavy loss for Harrison - one which will hopefully send him into retirement.

Don't think Khan vs Hatton will happen. I think Ricky just wants to finish his career on a high note, and Khan is too high risk.

I heard from someone recently that Hatton's broke / needs cash.

If that's the case and it's true he has slimmed-down (I've heard this a couple of times now), then I can't think what else is likely but a return to the ring.

As far as thinking about who'd win Hatton v Khan, I don't even want to go there..

Thinking about it, Hatton could have not slimmed-down and take on Audley (and then Price) !!

If he's at fighting weight, them I guess he'll fight. Agree that fighting Khan would be a big risk in terms of going out on a high, but it would be an even bigger risk to Khan. Hatton probably still throws bombs, and if Khan was KO'd by a semi retired bloke who hasn't been in the ring for a couple of years, surely that would be the end for him.

Khan is 25, he could lose for 2 years staight and still have time to come back.

He hasn't gone anywhere anyway, Khan got KO'd by a punch that would have KO'd anyone at that weight, so he got caught and needs to rethink his approach a bit. He'll be back and currently it's unthinkable he won't hold a world title again.

Hatton however is surely past the last chance saloon on a one-way pony to Slagheapsville, shedding 5 stone may not automatically guarantee him a win, but if the driver is money he may be happy just to keep safe and grind out a healthy exit form the next fights(s), taking a win if it comes.

Peterson cleared of performance enhancing doping, and allowed to keep the IBF title, but has to defend against Zeb Judah.

Will be interesting to hear Khan's reaction, he'll probably wish he hasn't been so vocal, as I doubt Peterson will want to do business with him again.

Khans reaction:

Interesting point they make that he then went on to lose against Garcia, while Peterson still holds a world belt and is set to defend it (v Judah).

So 'therapeutic' use of synthetic testosterone is okay then? No, he was 'at it'. The levels had dropped by fight-time as the steroids had already done their job. Khan's right - the IBF are sanctioning drug use. But hey, boxing? Dirty? who'da thought.

Abdusalamov won again on Saturday on the Klitschko undercard, Rd 2 KO.

16-0 (16 KOs). Never been past Rd 4.

He got dropped in Rs 1 by McLine with a decent long straight right tho.

He needs to look at his defence and movement, he already has the KO department covered.

Andre Ward humiliated Chad Dawson comprehensively including 3 knock-downs.

Looking forward to Burns v Mitchell on 22/9.

Also this weekend Martinez v Chavez Jr. in a genuine best middleweight contest, I'd like to see the winner fight the avoided KO artist Golovkin.

Hatton - good luck to him, hope he stays healthy.

> Hatton comeback looking certain now!

I think Hatton is seriously deluded if he thinks he has a chance of succeeding with this. I'm guessing he has pissed his money away hence the desperation of a come back.

I think he can get a world title again (though at WW, not LWW), it's a matter of who he's matched with.

Malignaggi would mentally be a good match for him, because he pasted him last time. However Malignaggi seems to have started getting stoppages again so maybe he's finally found his power, which may not bode well for Hatton, who arguably has already passed his most punch-resistant days.

However, Hatton versus the best at LWW or WW ? I'd be extremely surprised if he can cut it. His comeback is for his wallet not his fans, but he's trading on the loyalty of the fans who paid to see him when he was a boxer, not a comeback kid.

He's got more power now, relatively speaking I think than when he was at the lower LWW weight.

He duffed over an unbeaten world champ to take his title (I think that's it) and looked good doing it.

I think he's one of the sport's greatest movers and previously has had tremendous speed, mix some power with a lot of that speed and he could end-up doing quite well, his chin is IMO above his weight class and I think he proved that when he got slaughtered by Cotto, Mag is hard as nails he's had to be to make up for his lighter than average punching.

    • It happened again tonight. This time a group of kids ( I hate saying that, because it makes them sound less intimidating than they are), threatened to throw a water bomb at me. When I dared them, they started lobbing them. Then they started saying they were going to kill my dog and one of them jumped over the fence of the Japanese Garden and took a running kick at my dog, who got out of the way. He jumped back over the fence, then came back, came within a meter of me and threw a water bomb really hard at me.  I can't be sure it was exactly the same crowd as last time, though I suspect the male ring leader could be.  The police came and were amazing - as was the park warden - and are fairly confident of the identity of one of them and think they may have tried to arrest him before.  There were maybe as many as 15 of them, aged 16-18, all Caucasian, girls and boys (girls being just as aggressive as the boys). The ring leader is a slight man, dark hair / eyes, possibly with facial hair about 5'6", petite, wearing an all-blue tracksuit.  So please be careful when you're in the park around 6.30 / 7pm. The local SNT have been informed.
