Want to remove a section from my kitchen bench but don't know what type of person to ask to do it

I've just bought a flat and want to remove part of the kitchen bench so I can put a taller fridge in (currently it's under the counter). However I have no idea what type of person to ask to do it, e.g. a carpenter, or just a general handyman?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Just as a follow up I had Shaun come out and remove the section so I could fit my new fridge in and he did a fantastic job at a good price.
