Stephieee
If you were a 25 year old woman of average strength, no car and no wheelbarrow and had to move a normal sized rabbit hutch ~100m down the road, how would you go about it? Is there a business which caters for this sort of thing? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/48087-moving-advice/ Share on other sites

Peckhamgatecrasher
Most shops have a trolley. I borrowed one from my local convenience store to shift a washing machine. srisky
If all of the above fail, then ask for help from kind forumites and offer some cake/wine in return. ????
My dad had a great story where he moved a sofa from Whitechapel to Mile End (big, haevy duty old style thing) and he bought the lifters a pint at every pub they passed, which they drank sitting on the sofa....if they went straight up the Whitechapel Road that's a fook of a lot of pubs, or was in 1960. Stephieee
That would be perfect, I didn't even think someone would be able to loan me something like that. Would I be able to borrow it this weekend? I will of course provide baked goods in return! Stephieee
Thanks for all suggestions. Luckily I'm a proficient baker so have some kind friends willing to help in return for gooey raspberry brownies :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/48087-moving-advice/#findComment-775100 Share on other sites
Stephieee
I work on Whitechapel Rd and can imagine the state they were in if there were anywhere near as many pubs as there are now! And I bet nobody even batted an eyelid at the sight (have yet to come across a "Whitechapel Forum" discussing local goings on ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/48087-moving-advice/#findComment-775103 Share on other sites

Jeremy
It's only 100m - would take two people literally 2 minutes to carry. I'm sure if you post the name of your road, someone nearby will volunteer to help you. Help-Ma-Boab
Indeed, and I'm sure somebody would offer a lift. I'm not around and have slipped discs. The old, only 100m thing reminded me of a time I Helped an elderly lady with 1 bag of shopping. Only 1 bag...once I'd dropped it at her door, I ended up moving a chair, 3 book boxes from upstairs downstairs and various other bits and bobs..40 mins later the crafty devil had gotten a mini removal out of me. Good deed done though.Jeremy Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> It's only 100m - would take two people literally 2> minutes to carry.
