I advise that people actively stray from our culturally preconceived notions of which food combinations do and don?t go together.

I think Brendan, that the cheese and jam combination is actually quite a common thing in London of yore (at least according to my mum!).

In my family it was always popular with the Afrikaners especially of an older generation. Cheese and cream as well, on scones or suchlike.
