Write Your Own Fantasy Story ? Ages 7-11 - Tuesday 28 October

Three story-writing workshops by Margaret Bateson-Hill for those who love fantasy and using their imagination. Suitable for ages 7-11 years.


Workshop 1: The Day I Met a Dragon 10am ? 11.30am

Use all your senses and create your very own dragon. Then write a story about the moment you meet your dragon. Will this be the end of you or the start of a wonderful friendship?


Workshop 2: My secret self 12 noon ? 1.30pm

Do you have a secret self? Discover your secret self by filling in your very own secret self fact file. Then write a story about the moment that you discover just how amazing you really are!


Workshop 3: Through the Portal 2.30pm ? 4pm

What sort of portal will you discover and where will it take you? A shabby door down a deserted alleyway or a whirling, shimmering vortex of invisible energy? Are you brave enough to open the door? Go on, pull the lever!

    • Dulwich Park Fair 12th May 12 - 5pm FREE Magic Shows Dulwich Park Fair has been running since 2007 and normally ends the Dulwich Festival. It is a free outdoor, family friendly, event that includes a Fun Fair, Vauxhall City Farm, Punch and Judy, Amigo the Magician, interactive performances and a dog show. Lapdog Photo Productions are organising the dog show again so bring your four-legged friends to compete for waggiest tail, the best trick, or the rescue dog category. It is £2 to enter, and all proceeds will go to charity. The stage by the café and the display area will feature local musicians, brass bands, choirs, and dance acts of all ages.     • That’s what the post is about - encouraging locals to support independents rather than chains (like Megans)
    • I used to use 500 degrees when it was on that site. Pretty tough for all the independents now with Megans, Chipotle and other independent restaurants all opening at the bottom end of Lordship lane. So much competition. There's also 3 Italian places at least. Isn't the Italian cafe going to rebrand as well soon?
