Due to this topic being excessively long, a new 2024 "New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham" has been opened here. Please continue the discussion there.

Not East Dulwich but West Dulwich: Peace & Riot has rebranded as At No 12, and is now a conventional (but still family-friendly) coffee shop and wine bar. Because I'd never been in all the way before, I hadn't realised what a nice space they have. There's also a decent garden/deck. Definitely rocketing to top spot in my favoured W Dulwich places.
Pop in and suggest they keep them as a sign of continuity and respect for the area. (When the traditional Chinese remedy shop opposite the Plough moved in, the owners were going to rip it out but decided against it after they were told of their significance).

Does this mean there is a perm business moving in? I had thought the mama hood was a pop up so would just be there until let

Oh no, I hope that isn't true 😥

Adam's Cafe (39 Grove Vale, next to Cherry Tree pub) has been taken over by a couple of friendly young guys. Classic cafe food done nicely, and very reasonable prices.

Meanwhile, Tesco Metro in West Dulwich is closed for two weeks while they renovate in. Hopefully they can make it feel a little less gloomy.

Is there any truth to the rumours that Wagamama's and Poundland are coming to the Lane?

Poundland is - its replacing Foxtons. Its discussed here: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2286345

Haven't heard anything about Wagamama. Any source for that one?

"You may have heard of it" 😂 I will bring it along to the forum drinks tonight, to see if it jogs anyone's memory!
