Following on from the success of our first pop-up charity second-hand book sale we are holding another one

Where: The Here for Good Community Centre, 17 Sydenham Road, SE26 5EX near the corner with Silverdale and next to Well Being, the health food shop.

When: Saturday 25th October from 10a.m.-1p.m.

Why: to raise funds for the charity Book Aid

Come and see if there's a book for you, or buy one as a gift for a friend.

Good opportunity to get some presents for birthdays or Christmas.

Lots of Children's titles too.

Gifts for sale as well, maybe good stocking-fillers?

Thanks to everyone who supported Book Aid last time, and to all of you who found your way to their warehouse:

If you want to visit the warehouse and book-room give them a call to check opening times: 020 8778 2145. If you want to donate books please call them too.

Anyone coming on Oct 25th? You could always combine it with a visit to Well-Being, On the Hoof, Cherry and Ice, Blue Mountain, Kente, Sugar hill cafe and Kirkdale Books as well as all the fantastic charity shops etc in Sydenham. What an exciting place to live!

  I don't know if this is the right section to put this, but if you see anybody sleeping rough in this freezing cold, you can alert an organisation who will help via this link https://thestreetlink.org.uk/ Shelters have been set up in London for them. This is from an email I got today: London has been facing dangerously cold temperatures. For those sleeping rough, this weather can be life-threatening. London’s Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) has been activated throughout this week to ensure warm, safe emergency accommodation has been available for those who need it. StreetLink connects people sleeping rough with local outreach teams who assess their needs and offer support services. By making a report, you could save someone’s life.

  I'm going to add a fourth recommend for Rob Mills. A while back he did my boiler check and was so much more thorough than the previous boiler engineers I'd used, also taking the time to explain everything he was doing and why, which was extremely reassuring. Then this last weekend, when it was freezing cold, my boiler stopped working early on Saturday morning and was throwing out error messages that I couldn't resolve. He walked me through various steps to try via text message and resolved the issue for me with no charge. I was incredibly grateful and honestly, highly recommend him.

  My daughter is trying to find a multi vitamin for my granddaughter who is a very fussy eater. Basically she's living on yoghurt, breadsticks & banana's at the moment. Can anyone recommend a vitamin? Preferably one that's nice tasting if its liquid form. Thank you
