Are you looking to de-clutter and make some money out of it? On Saturday 18th June, NCT Riverside in conjunction with NCT Brixton is having a Nearly New Sale at the Bolney Meadow Community Centre. If you are having a clear out of all your unwanted baby clothes/toys/books etc why not book a stall/table for ?20 now! If you are interested email: [email protected] or [email protected] If that does not interest you why not come and help and get first dibs. We need cake and tea makers. We need people to help us to set up and clear up and we need people on the door to take entrance money. The sale is from 1pm - 3pm and then from 3pm - 4pm we have a toddlers party with Monkey Music, bubbles and lots of fun!

If you have a baby aged 2 weeks -6 months old then this course could be just right for you! Over 6 morning sessions the group (maximum of 8 parents) will explore a series of topics related to life with a young baby. So many courses focus on the baby, but this course takes it's focus as the parent. How is your sleeping, feeding and crying going? How do you feel about returning to study or work? How is your maternity leave going? We also spend time thinking about how the birth has left you feeling, and have information about accessing your maternity records etc. The course pack includes leaflets on all of the above topics, and much more. With resources to look at and the opportunity to make another network of friends in the area I do hope you come along to join those already booked on to the June course. Topics covered usually include: sleeping, feeding, crying, time for you, relationship changes, thinking about the next stage, work vs. home etc. A great course for those new to the area, or those who have been here ages. People who have been on these courses say it was a lifeline in the early days. Suitable for those with babies aged 2 weeks to 6 months- why not give your self a treat and book on? If you thought maternity leave would be a chance to learn a new language, start and business and/or work from home but have been surprised at how little time you have to yourself, then this is the course for you! Early Days Postnatal Course run by the NCT has spaces for the 6 week course which starts on Sept 28 in East Dulwich. Suitable for parents of babies aged 2 weeks to 6 months old, this course is a great way to explore the highs and lows of life with a new baby. Covering topics like, sleeping, feeding, crying, time for you, relationship changes etc with an experienced group facilitator. An opportunity to get to know others in the area as well as gain confidence in your parenting. Previous people who attended these courses have said how valuable it was to be with others going through similar things at the same time. A real chance to build a network in the area whether you have lived here for years or are new to the area. For those who had planned to use their maternity leave to learn a new language, start a new business and lots more besides and are surprised at how little time they have for themselves this is the course for you! Anyone coming to join us at The Crooked Well SE5 this Tuesday from 10.30am? The pub open their doors to those expecting a baby and new parents every Tuesday morning. Come for a coffee and chat, get to know other families in the area. NCT Practitioner will be there this Tuesday to try and help answer any questions about the first 1,000 days with your baby/ies. Event is open to all, information sheets and course info available too about NCT antenatal, postnatal and introducing solids workshops all of which run in the area. Also available are NCT Refresher courses, Waterbirth Workshops, Twins & Multiples workshops Baby Massage etc. Come and find out more on Tuesday.

If anyone is wanting to join an Early Days Postnatal Course the NCT runs these regularly in East Dulwich (and other areas). The courses are for parents of babies aged 2 weeks to 6 months (with their baby/ies) and are a great way to meet other parents in a non-judgemental environment to explore what you thought being a parent would be like vs. the reality! The feedback is really good from these courses, and it gives you an opportunity to discuss things which you may not have thought of with a qualified and experienced NCT Practitioner.
