Need new GP - Forest Hill Rd getting worse

Please address your complaints to the Practice manager; all GP practices are under a great deal of pressure thanks mainly to gov. policy concerning the NHS.

They are also a teaching practice and doctors also follow their specialisms at clinics etc.

I'm a patient of 25 yrs standing.and have been pretty satisfied.

Thanks for the information about a change back to a standard charge phone line. I am a patient at this practice and although I rarely use the doctors I am satisfied and did not change doctors when I moved and other practices would be more convenient. Their use of a premium rate phone number was my only gripe.
I am always surprised when I read that people can't get appointments at Forest Hill Road Group Practice. I've been registered there for around 35 years, and have still never found a problem in getting an appointment. The GP I prefer to see only works part time, and I have to book two or three weeks ahead to see her, which I think is perfectly acceptable. If I need to see a doctor urgently, and explain the reason why, I always get a same day appointment. I've always found that the reception staff go out of their way to be helpful. In 35 years, I've never had to hold on the phone for 15-20 minutes - I think the maximum wait I've ever had is 5 minutes, and that is very rare. I can't comment on the issue of only getting appointments between 9.30-4.30 - if I'm unwell enough to need to see a doctor, then I am happy to take any time that I'm offered.

    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
    • Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association.   Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.
    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
