Fantastic builders and roofer

Just wanted to add a recommendation for two fantastic teams that have done work on our house recently.

First David O'Brien from DRJ Builders. David and his team renovated our top floor and were extremely patient when we constantly added new tasks to the scope, often at quite short notice. They did a brilliant job and were a pleasure to have around. They were also very competitively priced and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. David can be contacted on 07960 938621 or [email protected].

Secondly, Russell Perring who did a wonderful job rectifying a whole host of problems with our roof. Like David, Russell was so easy to work with, trustworthy and very talented. Whilst it was difficult finding time in his busy schedule, he was well worth the wait. Russell can be contacted on 07852 972052 or [email protected].

David from Norwood Roofing Specialists came last week and solved several leaks - to front, back and side of roof. New guttering, a fit-for-purpose chimney cap and repairs to chimney stack and flashing carried out with no fuss, and David also pointed out a tree that had embedded itself in my roof - and removed it. He was able to assess the job accurately and quickly and offer what I thought was a fair price and a date and time to come to complete the work. It's been raining a lot today, and I'm hoping that if this winter is as wet as last year, I won't have cause to come back here looking for recommendations. David also guarantees his work. His number is 07412 000 214

    • Southwark council has lower council tax than Lambeth. I'm sure if Southwark raised their council tax  to cover similar street cleaning teams, the people on here complaining about leaves would be complaining bitterly about that!
    • Nope, just a regular old swimming pool. Nice enough house, but £2.75m seems a lot for 3 beds...  And the garden seems very sad, with minimal greenery and massive fences all the way around.
    • Sadly, your experience seems pretty typical to me. Estate agents must surely be a dying breed. Apart from adding your photos to Rightmove, and setting up a few appointments, what do they actually do? We sold our house last year, over £10k in estate agents fees, for appalling service, rude, patronising, as you said zero proactivity, zero feedback, I was constantly chasing. Just avoid any beginning with W, that would be my advice.
    • A friend works for Lambeth cleaning the streets, there is a team and they work round all roads in their area, clearing weeds growing between paving and edges etc, as well as the rubbish people leave. There is so much work that he usually works weekends as well. If you live around the Gypsy Hill area/ West Dul/ Tulse Hill area, you'll very likely have nice clean and tidy pavements.
