Having read all the great recommendations for Saied, I asked him to tackle our rather overgrown garden. He fit us in super quickly and did a fabulous job today, clearing all the weeds, cutting back the overgrown plants and making two trips to the garden centre to source extra plants and a container. Throughout, he was extremely kind, courteous and professional. Our garden has been transformed and I will definitely be asking Saied to come back and help us out again! Can anyone recommend someone to fix a dent on a car? Someone bashed ours over the weekend and didn't leave a note....

I agree that the use of "notwithstanding" is ambiguous and probably misplaced. You could however credibly argue that the termination clause is intended to operate outside the probation period (otherwise what would be the point of having a probation period?). The next part of the clause is also important as it suggests that the right to terminate comes into play "following confirmation of your employment" something which you normally do at the end of a probation period once the parties are happy with how the first month(s) has gone.

This was the junction this afternoon. The van was parked across the footpath causing pedestrians to walk onto the road at what is already a dangerous crossing.

I just wanted to add three recommendations for people who helped make my daughter's 3rd birthday go so brilliantly. First, the venue - we held her party at the Lordship Pub in the upstairs function room. The space is ideal and with a small bar in the room, the parents were kept happy whilst the children played. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the food was delicious. Second, the entertainer - we booked Joolz having read really good reviews on the forum about her. She pitched the show perfectly for the age group and had 10 children enthralled for a whole hour with bubbles, balloon animals, magic tricks and juggling. She then did over an hour of face painting, making sure everyone child who wanted their face painted didn't miss out (even though this meant her staying a bit longer than she had to). Emete created an amazing Toy Story (Jessie) cake that was not only delicious but made my daughter's eyes light up the moment she saw it. Just wanted to add a recommendation for two fantastic teams that have done work on our house recently. First David O'Brien from DRJ Builders. David and his team renovated our top floor and were extremely patient when we constantly added new tasks to the scope, often at quite short notice. They did a brilliant job and were a pleasure to have around. They were also very competitively priced and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Just wanted to recommend Alan from Wall2Wall4U who came round at really short notice and did an excellent job re-pointing our house. Another recommendation for Niko who came and fixed our shower. He is extremely helpful, very friendly and exceedingly tall! We (and nearly all my mummy friends in the area) went through something similar in October last year when my daughter was 4.5 months old. She was absolutely fine in herself - eating and sleeping well, no temperature and generally very happy. But she suddenly started pooing 10 or so times during the day and all her poos were greenish with mucus and extremely liquidy (we went through A LOT of nappies and did A LOT of washing!). The doctors told us all that there was something going round in the area and that, since our babies were well otherwise, not to worry. With my daughter, it passed after 3 weeks. But for a while, all we could talk about was whether our little ones had caught "the green poo" thing!
