Our builders did a neat job of shifting our oven, dishwasher, fridge / freezer and washing machine into our dining room while our works have been taking place. Didn't take them long and it's been a really way of reducing the disruption. Hello everyone, Tulse Hill Juniors FC are looking to recruit more players into our Under 12s football team for the 2020/21 season. This would be for players moving into Year 7 this coming September. We train on Saturday mornings in Dulwich Park and play matches on Sundays (usually mornings) between September-May. We've been with the club for two years now and found it very friendly, our sons have learned lots, and the club is very accommodating if there are school team matches which clash with training. Do be careful with the performance data. Schools are complex things and boiling them down to a few stats doesn?t really tell the full picture. I?d really recommend visiting to get a proper feel for the school and getting feedback from parents who already have children at the school is also really valuable. It?s some years since we were looking at primary schools for our application, but I was impressed by Bessemer when we looked there. And parents whose children are there now seem positive about the school.

I?m very happy to echo this recommendation. We?ve had Steve and Nichola sand floorboards for us at our old house and they?ve just done the bedrooms at our new place. The results are great and I?m still surprised at how they?ve managed to avoid any dust and mess in the rest of the house. Thoroughly recommended!

Oh, a bit of further clarification that might be useful. Maintenance and staff costs etc will be revenue budget (essentially paid for from the council's current account) and major works to the fabric of the park will be from the capital budget. There are strict rules about what councils can spend revenue and capital on, which can restrict the choices they can make.

There's a Civil Aviation Authority consultation on aviation noise impact here: https://consultations.caa.co.uk/policy-development/aviation-noise-impacts/. I've filled that in and have also written to Helen Hayes to ask whether she is working with other MPs in areas affected by flight paths to lobby government about this. I'm strongly of the view that the noise from flights into Heathrow and City has become much worse in recent years. Apart from the occasional week when Easterly winds mean the flightpath reverses, the flights are incessant (I took this set of photos in a ten minute period a few weeks ago: http://bit.ly/toomanyplanes). I think that the concentration of the flightpath (so aircraft are flying on a tighter route) might be part of the issue. Maybe it depends on individuals' sensitivity to noise or how close your home is to the flightpath, but personally I find the persistence really annoying. While I understand that the planes do need to land, I'm not clear why the flightpath can't be varied from week to week to provide some respite... :(

Hi @Sue, my understanding is that the people who own Barry also own the shop next door where Jade is (I think they've owned it since the newsagent sold up). As per @Artful's post, following Jade's decision to close the Barry people are going to be continuing to sell bread etc there (still getting the bread from Jade I think), so I've got my fingers crossed that it'll all work out OK...

Blimey, we appear to have a pavement again... The novelty of an unobstructed walk down to Lordship Lane for the first time in 20 months is a bit overwhelming. (Thanks for helping to put the pressure on them James.)

Response from Cosmur (Old Police Station developers) to my latest moaning email. ---- *Their first reply* Thank you for your email, we are doing our utmost to open the pavement as soon as possible. The pavement works were inspected by the Local Authority on Friday and passed, so are now working to clean up, before we can re-open, which will be in due course. *Their reply to my follow up email asking whether 'due course' will be within my lifetime* Yes, I can confirm that we are definitely aiming to re-open the payment before 2017. ---- So, the pavement may well be back soon. Which would be good news, but obviously doesn't the issue of why the Planning folk let them occupy it for nearly two years in the first place........
