Recommendation for rental - Daisylets

Hi all,

I'd just like to recommend our estate agents (can't actually believe I just typed that sentence, haha!), Daisylets. As far as I'm aware they currently only do rentals, but my partner and I have been renting with them for over two years now, and they are honestly just brilliant.

They're lovely people - up-front, honest, and their fees are ridiculously cheap compared to other agents. Forgive me if my memory is off, but I believe when we were looking around a couple of years ago Foxtons was asking for around ?350 in 'processing' fees for each tenant. Not to mention the deposits and 3 months' worth of bank statements etc that they demanded. In contrast, I think Daisylets charged us about ?90 each for my partner and me. No 'contract renewal' fees. No 'moving out' fee. Of course, the sums may be a bit different now but I can't imagine they've started rampantly profiteering in the last couple of years!

We've had a couple of problems with our flat, mostly plumbing, and each time Daisylets have sent somebody out the same day (within a few hours) and had it fixed. The last visit was on the weekend, and our plumber told us that Daisylets was the only agency he'd come out for on a Saturday. So they're clearly as popular with their contractors as they are with their tenants.

In fact, the only real problem we have is that we are now stuck renting only with them for the rest of our lives until we buy a place, as neither of us can face going back to a 'traditional' estate agents! Fortunately, it seems like word is growing as I'm seeing more of their signs up around ED.

Oh, and our landlord's an absolute diamond as well. There's another sentence I've never said before! I don't know if we're just lucky, but I personally think that Daisylets' human approach may attract a better class of landlord, the ones who are also sick of the misleading & overpriced rubbish that normally constitutes an estate agents in London. It's genuinely such a relief to find an agency that we feel we can trust not to screw us over (although we've not moved out yet, so let's see! Haha!)

I know I sound like an advert, and anybody who's ever rented in London before is going to be sceptical of rave reviews about an estate agent(!), but if you're looking for somewhere to rent in the ED area, just go and see them. You won't be disappointed!

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
