MUDDY BOOTS Children's Nature Group at Devonshire Road, Fri 7th Forest Hill

This Friday there will be two sessions of Muddy Boots 10-11.30 and (if enough takers), another at 1.30-3pm.

We'll be thinking about the wild birds we see in London and in preparation for the colder months we'll be making hanging wild bird food 'fat balls' out of seeds, raisins & nuts to take home and hang in your garden and help your birds find food over winter.

Please let me know either by text (07919 077198) or by a message here, if you are coming and if its the morning or afternoon session you'd like.

We'll be making the bird seed fat balls in the barn if its rainy, but bring your wellies and waterproofs! (including trousers if you have them).

Sessions are drop in ?6 per child and sibling discount available. Siblings under 14m are free.

Hope to see you there!

Muddy Boots is a children's nature group which runs at Devonshire Road Nature Reserve in Forest Hill every Monday and Friday 10-11.30 with a second Friday session at 1.30-3pm. Its very hands-on, friendly, relaxed, completely outdoors and aims to let children learn about nature, get grubby, get lots of fresh air and explore at their own pace this lovely wild green space.

Each week we have a nature related activity to enable learning about one aspect of the reserve's nature. We also offer digging, watering, a walk in the woods, tree climbing, foraging, listening for wildlife and end up with a story, snack and songs at our Basecamp. Children any age love the peace of the reserve and are very welcome.

To engage best with the day's more structured activity, I recommend 14m and over. Younger siblings are very welcome to come along for free.

Meet at the large iron gates on Devonshire Road, opposite Tyson road. On street parking available.

Muddy Boots runs year round in all weather!

    • Yup. At best I have people who detest Trump shrugging and saying something like “what ya gonna do?” Like that is any kind of answer what we gonna do is condemn, and watch out for same happening here - and watch out for all the handmaidens who would allow this to happen.  Apologists for Farage, Jenrick etc
    • There are plenty of Jewish people on these marches, who have every right to stand up and say not in our name. A Jewish bloc attends every single one: https://jfjfp.com/voices/jjp-at-the-gaza-demonstrations/ Jewish peoples lives are being made less safe by this war, as we recently saw in Manchester and in the clear increase in antisemitism. They want to see Peace, and this will only happen with justice for the Palestinians. Most have - within living memory - members of their families who have been murdered by an authoritarian regime. They know what they are seeing and why they are marching. Calling going on march 'indulging in Jew hatred' is just ridiculous. You've clearly never been on one. Engage your critical faculties and think about why these marches are being smeared, rather than spouting what the right wing press and home secretary tell you.
    • Thank you for posting that. Chilling.
