Anyone know a good removal company?

Hello! I am seeking a removals company to move us from a 1 bed flat in Forest Hill to a house in Hemel Hempstead. I require a full size lorry and a couple of guys to move all my furniture etc - its a definite removals job rather than a man with a van.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Many thanks!

Roberts and Dennys are very good and worth asking to quote. Reasonable price and take care of your stuff. They have a packing service too that I'd recommend. We've used them twice in a year: firstly to move-in to our house, then 6 months later move everything out into storage for building work. (all about to come back next week) Plenty of other recommendations for them on this site too.

A bit late, but just wanted to recommend VP removals after finding them on the forum via several recommendations.

These guys are fantastic!!!

Fantastic value for money and they work so hard! They estimated the job would take 4 hours and it took exactly 4 hours, even though they had to take apart our problem wardrobe and put it back together again for us. No damage, everything exactly where we needed it and super speedy, it's the easiest move we've ever done.

Thoroughly recommend these guys. They're as good as the big firms but cheaper and comes with loads of experience of moving awkward furniture into awkward houses.

    • Hi, my son is nine and wants to get into playing dungeons and dragons. Does anyone know of a children’s group playing nearby? Neither me or my husband ever played so we’re at a loss as to how to help!
    • Hi, found this thread searching for similar for my 9 year old son. Did you find anything locally? Thanks!
    • A lot of this is down to why the high street came into being in the first place  consumer demand  And now times has changed and consumers behave differently.  And businesses adapt to that.  It’s a bottom up approach as opposed to something imposed upon us.   It’s not to my tastes. But what do people expect to happen.  Jazzer is on to something when he says boycott Amazon - but the reality is even many who boycott Amazon choose other or more ethical alternatives. But still online  going into town for “a shop” just isn’t what people do anymore  Yeah but that’s not a real comparison. And “for ill” glosses over a lot of wrong as well  but we live in 2025 now and any of us oldies who think when we were 20 was the best time ever, a time we should go back to are just pining for our youths  there is no country in the world that can turn back the clock.  So in 2025, where is the closest vision of somewhere you would like.  Because if you look globally you don’t just get capitalism.  You can choose dictatorships or communism too
