Wanted: Tree surgeon

soph w

Recommended Posts

I have an apple tree in my back garden, that needs a good trimming and chopping back. It's not particularly big, but I think it's been neglected for a while so it's too knarly and awkward for me to get up there and cut it back myself. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone to do this and, if you can do it, an idea of cost.

Thanks in advance! :)

I want to recommend Christian from Respect Your Elders (tree surgeon). He was punctual, quoted, arrived to do the work on the agreed day, due to heavy rain midway through the first day called of the job, came back the following day, removed a small pear tree, cleared ivy from a tree trunk, pruned, thinned, shaped, cut back two apple trees, and neighbours over hanging trees, cleared all the waste away plus my additional garden waste (some 12 bulk bags)for s very reasonable price in comparison to others quotes I had got. So if you have any trees that need attention give Christian a try and you'll be more than happy with his work.

I have just had the best tree surgeon round to cut back mine and my neighbours tres called Jonathan Lewis, 07740618988.

Very friendly man, and seemed very knowledgable, he cleared up all the branches with a chipper, also a very good price.

I would Highly recommended him.

I would recommend Hamish who unfortunately now he has had so many recommendations is very booked up so we tried Bradley (07800987723) based on previous feedback but were very disappointed; he didn't get back to us despite his promises to do so and really let us down.

    • It's usually if your property is adjoining or very close to the property where work is being done. As others have stated, chimney breast removal and structural walls removal definitely require your consent and your neighbour will be responsible for paying your party wall surveyors fees. They probably don't want to pay additional money but that's the law so the law is on your side. It's a safeguard at the end of the day and if you want to quote the law at your neighbour to make them take responsibility I would get a solicitors letter (few hundred pounds but money well spent as property worth a lot and a lot can go wrong with building work so best to cover yourself). https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/preventing-and-resolving-disputes-in-relation-to-party-walls/the-party-wall-etc-act-1996-explanatory-booklet you may find useful
    • Good luck and look after you and your families future.  X let us know what happens if you can.
    • Thank you, yes I'm going to contact the freeholder about the building insurance.
