We are looking for an experienced barista for our new venture in South East London. The Shop Revolution Marketplace builds on the pop up shop model that owner Louise Brooks piloted for local high street regeneration scheme SEE3 in Sydenham and Forest Hill. The new shop will be a curated indoor market that will showcase local producers and sellers on a seasonal basis. This model will be layered with food and drink focused evening events, gifts and groceries.

The fixed element of the business is a quality coffee shop offering, and this fledgling business is looking for an experienced full time barista or two part time baristas to help spear-head that offering. Sydenham needs good coffee ? can you help?

The position is 30/40hrs, 5 days/week (Weds-Sun). Good rate of pay. Keen to talk to folk interested in part time roles too.

We are looking for:

Someone who is passionate about good coffee

Can produce high quality, consistent coffee and serve our fabulous fare

Would like the opportunity to shape this caffeinated offering

Is available to interview next week and start soon thereafter

Drop us an email at [email protected] if you want to find out more.

    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first? Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
    • Food banks for sure and what about approaching these schools in area that run summer camps - although having said that with health and safety being so strict might not allow it - crazy really.    Can’t remember name of church but was one in Peckham that from memory did a community meal a couple of times a week. Now they for sure would take them and probably Kingswood House as well.
