Kate Eyre Garden Design

Had a rather unfortunate episode with Kate Eyre Garden Design and Kate Eyre herself which brings into question the professionalism and integrity of this company. Their gardeners were working this Saturday at the front of a property in Rodwell Road. At almost 2pm they were still working, using an angle grinder and hammering. Builders in Southwark are not supposed to carry out noisy work after 1pm on a Saturday.

Phoned Kate Eyre to alert her that her builders were still working and disturbing the residents. She didn't seem to be aware that noisy work in Southwark was not allowed after 1pm, stating that "it was my understanding that builders could work until the end of the day on Saturday". She then promised to call the builders to tell them to stop noisy work, but 2 hours later her builders were still angle grinding and hammering.

It is worrying that a local company appears to be unaware of local regulations and also calls into question Kate Eyre's personal integrity and that of her company. This is not what we would have expected from a professional company.

Hope this may be helpful to anyone planning to have any professional gardening work done.

Sounds strange to me that you would come onto the ED forum and trash a company and discuss "personal integrity". It was a noise and the builders stopped. I am really surprised you should say this when I have used this company and could not be more conscious of the local community.

Sounds fishy to me!

No, not helpful. If your question was meant to be 'thoughtful'. I have no connection with this company, but don't we all get noise from our neighbours?

Must look up all you posts.....

get a life you twat .up to 10pm in any area of london typical of southwark that is from 1974 the laws was changed in the 80s but southwark dont know how to employ people that can do the job they are employed to do such as update there websites and data bases i take it its not at your house ,if it was i wonder if this thread would ever of been post .

Didn't post to trash the company but to relate an unfortunate experience. Don't make a habit of this but felt strongly enough to do so.

Speedbird, Noise from neighbors is different from contractor noise, which is regulated by the laws of this country. Didn't say the builders stopped of their own accord...they finally stopped when Southwark Council came round and told them to.

Pps, Quite clearly you lack the vocabulary to state your opinion without being abusive. Suggest you possibly get a life yourself and possibly English GCSE. Once you've done that, suggest you check the Southwark Council website which I have pasted here for you in case you have any difficulties. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/412/noise_problems/379/construction_noise

As per above pps, Southwark website is not out of date. If you have any questions about policy please feel free to contact Southwark Council on 0207 525 5777.

    • But... you returned at 4.03pm... 🤷‍♀️
    • Hello, Does anyone know of any climbing, basketball or badminton clubs that are local to Peckham, East Dulwich? My son’s weekends are full of football and rugby training but I’m struggling to keep him busy (off a screen!) on week evenings. I’ve looked into the London Community boxing but sessions sadly start at 4.30 and he’s not back from school until 5.  Any recommendations gratefully received!
    • Be careful out there  !   I got a ticket for 1 minute over  on Lordship Lane   ---- with a blue badge , on a single yellow ...    I returned at 4.03pm to find the ticket -- he waited till 4.01pm with ticket and then scarpered  Naturally i appealed it and this was the response   We refer to the informal challenge you have made against the issue of the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) JK17113680 You were parked on a single yellow line with one yellow kerb marking. There is a sign at the location advising that no loading is permitted Monday-Friday, 7 am to 10 am, and then 4 pm to 7 pm. Loading is permitted for a maximum of 40 minutes between 10 am and 4 pm, and then again after 7 pm. You were observed parked at 4:01 pm. and therefore issued a PCN for parking at a time when the rule applies. The purpose of this rule is to improve traffic flow and safety at all times. This contravention is immediately enforceable, and therefore, a PCN can be issued straight away as no observation period is needed. This rule applies to disabled badge holders, too; it is not a situation where you may use your disabled badge. Although your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) was correctly given, we have cancelled it on this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that this cancellation does not set a precedent for other PCNs issued in the future under similar circumstances, as each case is dealt with on its own merits. Yours sincerely Anita Hayler Southwark Parking
