  1. Carl was great when he fixed my fence. It has survived the recent storms and sits firmly in the garden. The garden being a wind tunnel! Thank you Carl...
  2. I can highly recommend Connor at Truepenny's. I have experienced several estate agents in Lordship Lane and none have had the values, honesty and integrity that I have very recently experienced with Truepenny's. I would never use Winkworth again, they're like car salesmen since the last Manager left. Two others I've used were nice but didn't work terribly hard to actually conclude sales.
  3. So sorry to hear this. We don't have all the other troubles you have but much the same behaviour from Winkworth. Best of luck to you and yours x Fidgetsmum Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks for the feedback everyone. Really > appreciate it. 4. Not Winkworth, for sure. Bad experience, inefficient team, promised communication - no communication. Very bad since Ollie left who ran Winkworth very efficiently, hence I went back - big mistake. I'm keen to know which are good, been told Acorn are 'on it, from start to finish', but would like to know any of the reputable others in the area.
  5. I would also like to add my endorsement for Chris Taylor. I cannot believe how stress free the whole process was. As others have said, Chris was flexible, efficient and extremely quick to come back with a selection of offers which he discussed clearly. Getting a mortgage has never been as smooth as this. I would certainly recommend him and have already given his details to others.

The offer of personal alarms for women couldn't go 'outside you patch' but the time to clear rubbish can. Well done, sinking to a new low. A view that you pass is it? Damaging the Barber Nirvana? Thanks to Renata for taking actual action. JB usually follows a couple of posts later.

  8. Aim for February, most people have given up by then!
  9. Call Abbey Cars. I used them recently to get to Heathrow. ?ber was on surge and the quote was a lot, Abbey Cars charged ?45, was on time and got me there safely and calmly despite heavy traffic. They send you a text when it's on it's way and after. Really good service. Think they're in North Cross Road.

As I said, I've just bought a house in ED ward. Would still get my own now. Would never vote for James now. Simple.

So that has only to be used for his ward. > Simple really! Yes, we'll spotted Townleygreen. I was under the impression the concern and personal alarms were offered for the benefit of'East Dulwich'. As you say, simple. Maybe James would offer his care and concern now I've bought in ED ward and crossed that little boundary. Silly me, under the impression it was a community thing and the important bit was the safety of those women in the area - nah, just votes.
  13. Hi mynamehere, it's this: Re: Groped whilst running by East Dulwich Station Posted by James Barber February 08, 07:58PM If anyone would like a free personal alarm let me know - we've bought loads from our East Dulwich ward Crime Prevention Fund. Email me direct. -------------------- Regards [email protected] 07900 227366 Liberal Democrat Councillor for East Dulwich Ward Skype cllrjamesbarber [www.jamesbarber.org.uk] [twitter.com] Not talking about MetTrace. It was in relation to women being groped in ED. it seems the only care is if you fall within a boundary. As I say, happy to buy my own. Hadn't thought I needed one till the incidents that took place then.
  14. Make sure it's a councillor in your ward. James put a post on here about personal alarms that had been bought using council funds and were free to anyone that wanted one. I PM'd him my address and months later AFTER the election, got told that I wasn't in his ward, couldn't have one. So no care unless there is a vote for it. At the time there was someone in the area attacking women. Just bought a house in James's ward though. Won't be getting my vote now. Karma. Happily buy my own personal alarm.

  16. Oh, that's nothing in comparison to the ?10,000 being spent by one of our ED concillor's on a feasibility study on Melbourne Grove ED. At least there is a benefit at the end of the works the OP talks of....ah, to get fresh new pavements for your money, now that would be good.

Isn't there a councillor that lives in the street? I seem to remember there being a problem before when an area of that street was changed into an orchard by some sort of council spending. They probably need quiet now... Stunning that this nonsense can even occur. Push that traffic to the surrounding roads, another bright idea.

  19. Anyone with any issues should email the following: tara.quinn@ southwark.gov.uk as detailed in a past thread. Having said that, she has been overseeing the management for years, so maybe no hope. As I said in a past thread, they got rid of the good people and replaced with cheap labour. They don't care, it's a money making machine for Fusion. The council are responsible for all the maintenance and the infrastructure, so Tara Quinn above is the person to contact overall.
  20. The reality is that the council own the infrastructure and the maintenance while Fusion manage the facility - between the two parties, you don't have a hope in hell. James will know this as he was there on the re-opening day celebrating along with the council.

  22. They are quite big though, they don't seem afraid of humans and amble along the platform like they're out for a stroll. When you want to run away screaming but can't because you're all dressed up ready for work!

So glad it was such a warm and positive vibe, it's only cost us all a couple of million, still, if you feel warm and fuzzy it must have been worth it....
