  1. Yes, all a bit strange. Basic search says company set up this year as Clothes for Causes Eltham Ltd. can't find any further info on them. Don't they have to have a registered charity number? Strange. Not been in there and not my sort of place.

She is rarely there, loves publicity More than spending time with patients, is more about herself than listening to them. Believe me, this woman is not for caring. She is the Doctor of an elderly relative and it is like getting an audience with the Queen.

  6. Harradines have been great. Just sold my Mum's house and haven't found the right property for her yet so used their storage. We used the move and storage facility. They will come to assess, give you a quote (two separate quotes, one with storage, one without). V good so far. Helpful on the day, no fuss. Excellent.
  7. I think the place on the corner of Grove Vale and Melbourne Grove unlocks phones. Seem to remember seeing that service offered in the window.
  8. I saw that too! Offending a lot of people since it is considered the UK's most popular size. Any business that represents a size 16 as 'Big Size' is, in my opinion, committing business suicide.
  9. I think you're right Mic Mac, though unsure whether it's because houses are coming back on the market after the panic buying over the last six months. Seems like several houses have an offer made, drags on for a couple of months, then back on. I know since I'm looking for a small house for my Mum and it has been difficult. Fingers crossed, now I'll find her something!
  10. I agree dollywitch! I don't live on the estate next to Sainsburys, but visit a friend there on my way back from shopping. It is growing in size and looking much more like a travellers site. I don't know what happens here, but would say find out the options from the council. In answer to Titch Juicy's question.... I found it quite intimidating and wouldn't now take that route as I normally do. Though I'm guessing you don't live there or use that route?

This is not the fault of the new owner but in fact the family that sold it off in the first place. What was the community resistance exactly?

  16. Different for me. Placed calls to Haart that haven't been returned, registered for mailing lists, notification of property for sale as we are cash buyers, yet nothing. It Is very frustrating from a buyers point of view. I wouldn't use them. We have however sold property through Pedder (in the village)and they have been brilliant. Pedder are completely on their sales and have been nothing but excellent throughout. Communication with Pedder has been great, less so with any other estate agent in the area. Hope this helps, would use Pedder over any of the others!
  17. Mustard, unsure what the time was... A haze of Gin and tonic, but would say it was probably around 7ish. Though I didn't know that kids were allowed till seven anyway. We left as we were waiting at the bar to order for far too long. Shame, it would have been good. Yes, Mr Petrov, they obviously have a license that allows kids in. Is that the food side of the business that allows it? Maybe.....
  18. Went to House of Tippler with a couple of friends a couple of weeks ago, early evening, sun shining, the prospect of a few martinis. We were greeted by the noisy mess of what looked like a kids party in the back but spilling into the front. We beat a hasty retreat to another hostelry without the noisy rabble of a 'family' atmosphere. So please, a bar is a bar. If you do this, don't make it the local cr?che.
  19. I agree, they are completely unfriendly, lacking in customer service and have been since they were there. Hence, don't use them (I realise you had no choice). I also heard it was closing down soon and the College will be renting out the property....
  20. Couldn't fathom how it was surviving, so not really a surprise....
  21. Dulwich health matters on LL sells them I'm pretty sure. Last time I went in for oils, I was telling them about a Muji oil diffuser that I had bought and they had one pretty similar. You can either get the ones that require candle/heat to diffuse or the new ones that plug in and a vibrating plate mixes the oil with water. Hope you find one!

  23. There are 634 runways the aircraft could have landed on given the size required for a 777 landing (1.52km). That is spread across 12 countries. What I don't understand is why the Captain signed off on enough fuel at the start of the journey for a further hour and a half on top of the intended journey length. Why wasn't this questioned? There are always factors that would make them make that decision, usually weather, head winds etc but from what I've read, there wasn't any adverse weather enroute. A mystery....
