I am looking purchasing an XC60 and it has an electronic handbreak.

I don't have an issue with this but am wondering how any XC60 drivers find it? I am particularly interested in the fact that it automatically turns off when you push the accelerater is applied, how does this work on a steep hill?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't driven an XC60 but I often use a Golf which has a similar automatic handbrake and I have to say it works brilliantly, including on steep hills - you just have to learn to trust it. I am not a fan of a lot of new gadgetry in modern cars but I would have to say that this is something that I would be pleased to have in any car I owned.

    • They are so good. Fabulous people too. I love the food - AND they are dog friendly. I don't understand why everyone queues at the place next door when this like goldmine is right THERE!
    • I was just saying this to someone the other day, I have a photo of me at my first job in 1995 with an ashtray and 20 B&H on my desk!

    • It's like that most of the time.  Like many, I can only use it at certain times due to work hours and the queue is always out of the door, that said it does tend to move pretty quickly.  Think I was in and out in 25 mins last time which I would call a success! Don't mind Sue, think she woke up on the wrong side of the Post Office queue this morning!
