How do I persuade a fox living under deck to move elsewhere?

Recommended Posts

It is driving my dogs (and me and no doubt my neighbours) bonkers. The dogs are barking and digging at the deck trying to get at it. Unfortunately it is in the far corner and cannot be seen or reached. I assume it is a fox as it has been there two days. Just hope it is not a vixen who plans to have her babies there! Does anyone know the best way to persuade a fox that this is not a good place to live?
If it has been there for two days without coming out, it may be sick or injured. Mating season doesn't typically start til January. You definitely don't want foxes living under your decking so once you've got it out, make sure to secure it so they can't move back in.

Try contacting a wildlife rescue centre to come and get it and have a look. If it is injured or ill they will take care of it. They can also just humanely relocate it too. Hose pipes and other methods to drive it away in fear will not help the animal.

    • Sure - but to describe one councillor's hissy fit as a "fury" unrivalled by hell is a bit of an overstatement. Cllr Barber's attempt to hijack the moment by blaming austerity on Labour instead of the Lib Dem-Tory coalition is an amusing fumble too. It would have been better to keep quiet and enjoy the spectacle of Labour and ex-Labour councillors bickering. Labour is well-known for its ability to sustain internal catfights for years, if not decades!
    • Yes,  but as you said "at last" you had found a good reason not to vote for the greens, I wondered why you would want one. Plus it seemed (to me, at least) a very strange reason and didn't seem to have anything to do with the party's policies.
    • I also had a good experience with Andy, he was quick to respond and came out to resolve the issue at short notice. He was friendly and worked hard to find a solution to the problem with my tap which is now working like new again.
    • No, I clearly quoted you in my response; did you miss that? It’s obviously AI generated: any reasonable human being would be too ashamed to spin such arrant twadle.
