To Hot Wheels or not?

My 5 year old has asked for a Hot Wheels set for Xmas, but am wondering if he is too old for this and will get bored of it after a few goes?

Personally, I played with hotwheels till I was about 7 or 8, maybe you could look on ebay to find some not so expensive sets?

I'm with mima - I can remember playing with mine in a house we didnt move in to till I was 7. And my 6 year old still likes his (more than his mum likes the mess on the stairs!)
