kapaxiana
Long shot but hoping that someone will have been in a similar situation and can shred some light! We are buying a property in another borough but haven't exchanged yet however my daughter will be starting school next year so I have applied for two local schools to where we are moving to. I filled in the new address and have everything crossed that by the time they look through the application and ask for a proof of address we will have moved already. However as purchases can fall through I wanted a back up plan as in to also apply for local schools here just in case things don't go according to plan. But because I signed up with the 'new' address I think she will be turned down straight away for local schools in ED because its like we live in Wallington and are applying for schools in ED.Not sure what to do. I am worried sick that my daughter will end up being sent to a school that I would have never chosen... sighTIA Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/52933-school-application-advice-please-moving-house/ Share on other sites
Mariamadeit
I ink your best bet is to give the admissions people a call and take their advice. Like you say, you don't know for sure where you will be, but try not to worry too much, it will be ok. HannahSE23
When we moved we couldn't officially apply to the school of our choice in our new area until we had exchanged on the property we were buying. We then got an official letter from our solicitors to the school admissions team to say we'd exchanged. However, you can still apply for schools in ED as you still officially live here until the date of completion. Hope that helps. Moving is a stressful time when you have to factor in schools.
