GCSE Maths Tutor, with many years experience and success

Hello,

My name is Nathaniel and I am an experienced maths tutor who lives in Nunhead.

I have been tutoring GCSE maths for over six years, because it is something I thoroughly enjoy, and in that time I have helped many students achieve what they thought was impossible.

I attended Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College, where I achieved 98.3% in my maths GCSE. I then went on to be Deputy Head Boy and then onto study a Pure Mathematics degree, so your child will be in very good hands.

My mother is a teacher of more than 25 years and she also tutors so I guess it's in my blood :)

One of my proudest moments as a tutor was when I was asked to spend a few hours with a girl who had been suspended from school a number of times in her GCSE year and was predicted a D...I spent four hours with her two days before her exam, and then had the pleasure of having her mum call me in tears a few months later because her daughter had got an A :) Moments like that are the reason why I do this.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will reply as soon as I can.

Thanks

Thank you to all those who have been in contact and shown an interest in me tutoring their children :) I have already arranged to meet and start tutoring some of you next week, which is great news!

I have had many enquiries as to my availability so I thought I would post is here to make things easier: I currently have some sessions available on Monday and Tuesday evenings and early in the evening on Thursdays. For those who are interested in daytime tutoring sessions and other evenings, I am happy to discuss this and try and find time so please do not hesitate to ask.

If my availability changes significantly, as I take on more students, I will be sure to let you all know.

Thanks, and have a great weekend :)

    • Totally agree regarding not supporting chains. Gail’s was fine but last time I went in Feb this year, actually walked out Fayetteville looking at menu and waiting 15 minutes to even get glass of water and not busy at all. Staff gone down hill - sooner it goes the better… Always prefer to support non chains - so many lovely places with good food to choose from with pleasant staff who know about customer service and sadly, non English which says a lot for our culture, pubs are also becoming abit of a hit and miss affair but maybe just unlucky. At the end of the day all about the chef. Still abit unclear where new place is located - is it down the road from Goose Green where parade of shops are before Peckham Rye?
    • Surely only where the local businesses offer clear advantages, otherwise you are rewarding what should be failure. I want to be served by a better bakery than Gail's, not a worse but local independent one. Certainly give a local independent some time to get the offer right, but don't buy goods which are worse and or more expensive just because the outlet isn't a chain.
    • Let’s just boycott all chains in favour of local businesses.  Places like Gail’s popping up everywhere has a very damaging impact on small businesses. It’s just the same as the new empanadas place but on a bigger scale. I’ll say it a million times more, we hold the power with our choices. Let’s use our power to look after ourselves and our environment (which includes small local family businesses). And yes, I also love Chacarero.
