Painter and Decorator - Recommendation

I recently had some decorating and wallpapering done by Daniel from The Art of Decorating (he has an ad on the forum)

The work was completed to a really high standard and Dan is a really lovely guy - I'd highly recommend him to others on the forum.

His number is 07807 236 489.

I would like to second this recommendation.

We had Daniel round to decorate our flat and get it ready to go on the market. His work is faultless, he was prompt, communication was great and he was nice to have around.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him, and will definitely be using his services in our new place.

I'd like to add my comments echoing Daniel's excellent work.

He wasn't the cheapest quote we had but he's a really nice guy and very trustworthy. He did an excellent job decorating three rooms and a hallway-landing in just two weeks. He also did a spot of tiling too.

I'm very pleased and would happily recommend him.

So would I. Did our place whilst we were away on holiday over Easter. Amazing job!

Another recommendation for Daniel (Art of Decorating). I had the masonry around my windows painted (ground and first floor windows). The standard of work and attention to detail was exactly what I was looking for.

I initially telephoned Daniel to make enquiries and a couple of hours later he came to visit so he could give an accurate quote.

He's very communicative and a pleasure to deal. I'll definitely use him again.

For years our house needed some TLC. A water problem forced me to get my act together. I didn't know anyone but found Daniel from the Art of Decorating from the forum. After a prompt and fair quote, he got started soon enough. Each day Daniel would be here on time, work intensively but be out of the house by late afternoon. Stripping, plastering, lining, painting, the lot. Despite all the work that was required, house was always left clean and tidy. I echo comments above about the attention to detail. And Daniel is very accommodative about ideas and changes of ideas, which let's be honest happens quite often on big projects. A top quality product from a top bloke. Would recommend him wholeheartedly.

    • Hi - a friend sent me this link…   The car is neither abandoned nor stolen! (Nor ever has been, so not sure why that has been suggested). It is mine, I collected it from service (and MOT as identified by some on here) on Friday, driving home it had a bit of a hissy fit and broke down! AA attended on Friday, could not recover it until this morning. Spoken to the nice people inside Westminster carpet on Friday who couldn’t have been kinder, I moved the car back from the doors of the property as best I could without blocking more parking spaces. Recovery should be here imminently. Apologies for any inconvenience.
    • That's very odd if they won't answer. Do they just say "no, we won't tell you that"? I can understand they wouldn't want you to get the bread direct from their source instead of from them, but why not just say that? If they baked it themselves, I imagine they would be only too happy to let people know.
    • Possibly one of the other local garage owners may know? Also, it's possible if the owners and staff are still in the area that they might see your post. They didn't post on here themselves (to the best of my knowledge) but they must have known that I did, as a couple of times the lady who worked in reception phoned me to ask me if I could  post in the "Lost" section when something dropped in Hansler Road had been handed in to them. Unfortunately I only have their office landline  number, which presumably disappeared when they closed. Good luck! Hopefully your service manual may turn up in an unexpected place.
    • Well, that was my initial thought too, but having re-read the thread, it seems that the car was left outside Westminster Carpets. Maybe even middle-aged Lotharios can't ignore the low, low prices in their 'Remnants, Offcuts & Roll-End Sale'.   Do you know anyone with a second generation Fiat Punto (1999-2010)? Because 5 to 1, the key will fit.  I'm out of the country, watching the cricket, just now but if you can get it down to the Catford/Sydenham borders in the next couple of hours, I've got a mate who can 'look after' it. It'll be at Tilbury docks by 6 o'clock. Have you ever driven a car with an F1 style, flappy paddle gearbox before?
