I don't know whether I should really admit this - but I am a big fan of University Challenge! I never thought i'd be sat at the edge of my sat chewing my nails but tonights final was a blinder - yes I really did just say that.

Normally myself and batman battle it out to see who can get the most (if any) answers correct and generally enjoy Jeremy Paxman not giving a damn.

Anybody else do the same or similar with other shows - or for that matter have any guilty pleasure shows?

i'll admit to watching (& enjoying sshh!) Come dine with me. I guess its the very sloppy way people who are unlikely to get on are put together to cook and entertain each other.

Yes Robyn - I like University Challenge too - always pleased to get about 5 right. Give myself a half point if I guess the same answer as the student, even if it turns out to be wrong, shows that I was at least thinking along the right lines.

Of course the trouble is they have really dumbed down UC since the glory days of Bamber Gascoigne...B)

Unfortunately that was before my time - being of the dumbed down 'not real qualification' era....

I fall totally flat on classical music and opera, its normally the obscure science questions I get right much to the mistiication of the other half

5 seems like quite a good aim - although if you have a degree in classics or ancient history or ever went to public boarding school you have no excuse for not getting them al right

Always wondered how many kids on there come from state backgrounds lol

I like UC.

And the film "starter for 10" is great.

Back when I was a student me and my housemates used to watch 15 to 1 every day and see who got most answers. I used to like that.
