Love_London
If you have a cleaner, how many hours per week do you use the service for?We have a 4 bedroom house but it's only me and my husband in the house and we both have full time jobs. We currently do not have a cleaner and we keep the house relatively clean at all times and we hardly use all bedrooms so I don't think we will require too many hours of cleaning service. But it will be mainly for cleaning bathrooms and kitchen. How many hours do you use it for if you are in a similar situation? Loz
For a similar sized house, we used to get a cleaner in for 3 hrs/week, but one of those was spent ironing (bliss!). She used to do heavy areas like the kitchen every week and the less used areas every alternate week. Worked pretty well. MrBen
Time boxing to 3 hrs is about right but depends on scope of work - just write a list of what you need done and get them to quote. 3 hrs is enough to do kitchen + bathrooms in a 4 bed plus hoover and tidy other rooms. Sometimes if i'm really lucky I get a shirt ironed too. They are Brazilian and lovely people and in summer they seem to wear little shorts and t-shirts and I'm embarrassed to say it's sometimes distracting to the point that Im forced to leave the house.
