wulfhound
Was out for a run in the woods this morning - is it me or is the crossing at DC/LL by Cox's Walk extremely hazardous? It's marked for pedestrians to use with the usual tactile paving etc., but with no actual green man phase on the lights. The southern side of Dulwich Common in particular seems to have continual flow, there's no break in the traffic allowing people to cross.Has there been a previous push to get this sorted, is there history etc.? Bad enough on my own, would be a nightmare with kids or dogs. spider69
Its a death trap. Always has been and suspect always will.Still Townley Road is far more important for Dulwichs little darlings although that is not a death trap and never has been Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55454-pedestrian-crossing-at-dulwich-common-ll/#findComment-831331 Share on other sites
Pickle
Yes, very dangerous. I negotiate it when out running too - it's bad enough at off peak times, would hate to try and do it when the traffic is heavier or with kids. I guess the option is to go up the hill a bit, there's a crossing near the modern apartments, and then come down the other side. Pugwash
This has been a topic for years - unfortunately it is TFL who are the feet draggers in this instance, they feel that traffic flow is more important than lives. Bic Basher
I find it safer (just) to walk slightly down the common by the Lordship Lane Estate and walk through there. There's also a traffic island by Fireman's Alley. dimples
It has in the passed been a topic discussed / brought up by me and others at a meeting with Tessa jowell but that was a good 5 years ago . Deffinately worth shouting about as so many people have to cross especially children for schools and nurseries ! wulfhound
Glad I'm not the only one - I'll ask Valerie Shawcross & Darren Johnson. They are in a more relevant position to do something about it than Tessa Jowell.
