Hi roarster

By e music do you mean all online stores or a specific service?

I tend to use last fm and the music room on here for free listening. Then i buy on cheap cd by preference or i tunes for laziness/convenience

Lots of new free models coming online. Adverts are involved usually. Spotify is a prominent service at the moment

I think mightyroar means http://www.emusic.com/ which we use although I have no particular recommendations not least because we have no idea what kind of music they like.

We have a lot of last.fm going on in our house and have just gone with Napster where you can listen to just about anything but can't keep it. Also spotify is pretty good for the money.... (free)

Hi, yes ruffers that is what I mean. There are some hidden gems on there but sometimes too hidden.

I have pretty broad tastes so I'm just looking for any good things you may hvae found recently, like the stax album recomended by capt-birdseye.

I just got some ladyhawke, ryan adams, ladytron and tv on the radio. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any good finds.

I just saw spottify at someone's house and I think I might get it as it looked fab, almost too good to be true!

I also love the last.fm

    • I'd get rid of duty free shopping.  Nothing to do with tourist tax but something I hate.  All that glitz as you try to get through to Wetherspoons in the departure lounge.  No great savings over on line or even at times supermarkets, and the hypocrisy of selling cheap cancer sticks. Ok back to tourist tax
    • If anyone is thinking of traveling a bit more and would like to supplement their trip by picking up a few family heirlooms from various ailing maiden aunts of mine, please drop me a private message. I'm particularly interested in anyone who is considering Colombia & Bolivia, The Golden Triangle region of South East Asia, Andalusia & North Africa or Rotterdam. And Liverpool.
    • Wow I had no idea they give you 5% in perfume for your accommodation. You're right, I need to travel more.
    • Do none of you go abroad.  Tourist taxes are really common in continental Europe and do vary a lot city by city. They are collected by the hotels/rental apartments. They are usually a  tiny part of your holiday costs.  In Narbonne recently we paid €1.30 per person per night.  The next town we went to charge 80 cents per person per night. By comparison Cologne is 5% of your accomodation.
