Hi,

Our little one will be off nursery for 7 weeks in the summer. He's only 3 and as far as we can tell there are no children's groups he could go to as he's still too young.

We're considering getting an au pair to help us looking after him, but we haven't done this before and aren't sure about the best ways to go about it. Is it best to use an agency or a site like Aupair World‎, how much would an aupair around Sydenham would usually be paid for example. If any of you have done this before and could give us some advice, we'd be really grateful.

    • True but I doubt nobody around lordship lane has a phone. The value that the phone box provides is severely outweighed by modern circumstances and its painfully ugly look. Having to use that phone in an emergency is an emergency in itself.
    • Yes, except round here is started in early September, through October, in all that means fireworks season is now 5 months of the year.  Again, what is the attraction in startling random bangs. Why do people think this is okay?
    • You've gone a bit Alan Patridge again.... Why on earth would I need to eat humble pie, I really can't fathom what your point is?
    • Ahh, the traditional smell of the BT air fresher, hint of urine, used to stop people spending hours in the phone box and queues forming.  Although it is disgusting that people feel its their rights to treat a utility as their own personal litter bin and urinal. 😔
