Do you think Obama disrespected one of Americas staunchest allies when Gordon Brown visited Washington and Obama made it a low key visit, and not a proper state reception, which the Prime Minister of England deserved even though hes a bit of a wet blanket. Also Obama returned the statue of Winston Churchill to Britain, which was given as a gift. Even if you don't like the gift, why return it? That's just rude. And Russia is continuing to prod at Obama with the latest matter of the missile shield in Poland and Iran. Clinton gave Russia a Reset button to me it looked like an Illuminate catalyst's clandestine message of Yo Ruskis Lets Nuke Iran and split the Oil profits.

The prick got the job by default it happens at work all the time, I personally don't care what race creed or religion the man in the driving seat is as long as hes got the keys.

I think the low key visit, as you put it, was sort of like they were 'chums' and Gordy can visit anytime he wants to. Obama's style appears to be more casual than most politicians, part of the 'I'm just an ordinary man like you' charm, I guess.

And did he actually return the bust to Britain or just give it back to Bush? It was a gift to Bush and perhaps he wanted it back in Texas where he can sit with a big book of famous people and properly identify the figure that's baffled him for the last 8 years.

We'll have to wait and see with Russia, but the fact that the US is even talking to Iran, discussing nuclear nonproliferation with Russia, sending $900m to help rebuild Gaza and closing Gitmo, can't be a bad start to his presidency.

I remain hopeful.

what really made me chuckle were the gifts exchanged, the browns buying dresses, necklaces and a collection of books for the obama girls and receiving two plastic helicopters available from the white house gift shop; and then gordon giving barack a first edition series of books and a pen holder made from the wood of a historic ship (which was a sister ship to the ship from which the oval office desk was made) and recieved a dvd set

i don't think that it's important for world leaders to give each other good presents so unlike the telegraph readers i'm not outraged by this, but it does amuse me

His chin is slightly too "up" & his nostrils say 'I know.....but you don't think I'm really listening do you"

...and he fiddles with his shirt cuffs a little to often ( for my liking )

Insightful ehh ( I'm on to something here )...........

Oh and posting Churchill back, nothing wrong with that other than "the fat guy statue..yeah jus send him back"

Is he's confusing U.Kplc with Harrods...?

Really lastly....what about the statues carbon footprint now...... I mean..

    • I’m broadly in agreement with you, Dogkennelhillbilly. But why the meme? It’s a very unfair representation of Sean Dyche, a man who to my knowledge has never engaged in any culture war bollocks. From his Wikipedia entry: Dyche features in an internet meme criticising modern trends in football, in which the phrase "utter woke nonsense" is attributed to him; he said "I wish I'd copyrighted it. Considering I didn’t actually say it, it does follow me around".
    • Whisky Macs, like Harvey's Bristol Cream and Cinzano Bianco & lemonade, are a taste of Christmas past sadly lost to many. A little Whisky Mac and icing sugar whisked through whipping cream makes a festive accompaniment to stollen or Christmas pudding.
    • Legal matters are notoriously slow.  There is no rule that communication has to be via email, fax or letter. If the issue is that you want to claim damages to the property because of poor practice, you would have to lodge a complaint with the ombudsman, but surely the one to suffer the most is the “gold digger” beneficiary?    If that is not the wrong that needs righting, what is?
