Low cost space needed for startup!

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

We are new to the forum but from the local area and hoping that the community might be able to help us in our search for a space we could use for our start up.

We have recently setup Radical Harvest, an indoor urban farm, growing Microgreens. Microgreens are a relatively new plant category, where the crop is harvested at a very early stage resulting in high nutrition and flavour.

In order for us to take the business to the next level we need an interim space in which to grow. We are currently at a stage where growing at home is a little tricky and in the not too distant future we would hope to be moving on to something larger scale on a more permanent basis. Thus we are looking for something to use over the next 3-6 months.

The space we need does not have to be anything fancy. For our purposes we do not need natural sunlight or even a big area in which to work. We simply need somewhere with access to electricity which is weatherproof and secure. As we grow on a shelving system an area of 3m by 3m would be ample.

As a start up we are looking to keep costs as low as possible but would be happy to negotiate an arrangement for rent/business rates in return for the space.

If you or anyone you know can help or advise we would be very grateful and happy to hear from you.

Many thanks

Toby and Harry

    • You probably don't need to understand it better!! But basically you used to be able to drive up and down Court lane and Calton Avenue across the Dulwich village junction with gay abandon and now you can't because that part of junction is now blocked by multicoloured woodwork and planters.  So Dulwich village is split in half for vehicles and you have to drive a long round to get from one side to other.  Some people (the majority who responded to Southwark's seemingly flawed consultation) hate this, especially those living on roads to which the through traffic has been displaced and those who have to drive alot further to get from one side of DV to the other and some people like it.  The debate will go on forever without a happy ending for some of the people.  That's it really 🤔
    • We live in a half house on Pellatt road and did a loft conversion a few years ago. No complaints at all! The walls on the adjoining side (the side where you share the front door) is a bit thinner than a typical Victorian home so we can hear our neighbours going up and down the stairs but otherwise it’s good.
    • Have you been back to Dugard & Daughters and discussed it with them yet? What was their response and reaction? There are other butchers to choose from. I've used the same one (not the one you mention) for probably 9-10 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Always get well looked after.
