Hiya

Again, I want to recommend my cleaner of 4 years, and she's just finished a long term job where she was working 3 days a week for one family, so she has 3 spots (2-4hr) in her weekly schedule for anyone living within 10-15 mins of Peckham Rye station, and would be available to start next week.

I've recommended her in the past on here, and everyone's been really happy. I've recommended her to a friend, and neighbour and they're thrilled with her too.

She is Bulgarian and while her english is limited, you can still have conversation, but she is lovely, incredibly polite, reliable and is such a hard worker, and consistently leaves the house sparkling and her standards have never slipped.

I have a 5 bed house and have her for 4 hours each week (used to have her for 3hrs for 3 bed before loft conversion), and she is so reliable, she does ironing and finds extra tasks to do that I don't expect - I'm not sure how she fits so much in.

If you're interested, it would be very helpful if you could please send me your road name/postcode, how many hours you want her to work for, and any questions. I'm a recent new mum, so providing this info helps me to pass on details to her easily, so she can work out her schedule. I'll get back in touch asap. She's been so helpful to me, so I just try and help her get work when she needs it.

If you want to chat to me about her I'll happily provide a reference over the phone.

Thanks

Rachael

Hi Rachael

We are interested but we live in Herne Hill not far from North Dulwich, Herne Hill or Denmark Hill Stations. Would she be willing to come this far? How much is she per hour? We are currently renting a tiny three bedroom house but my husband and I both work full-time and we don't have time to do cleaning, laundry, ironing etc. so we could be looking for as many as four hours per week depending on when she is available and how much she charges.

Oh I do hope she would consider coming our way!

Thanks

Shannon

Hi Shannon

Ideally she needs them to be be se15 and a close walk from peckham rye station..but I know she has one job in denmark hill. How far are you from denmark hill station and I can ask.. feel free to pm me.

I pay her ?12.50 (recently increased from ?10/hr), but that was my choice to increase her pay as she's been helping me for so long.

Many thanks

Rachael

Hi Rachel,

Is your cleaner still looking? She sounds fantastic. We are after someone like that for 4 hrs a week for a 3 bed (no kids) house. We are just off Lordship Lane (near Franklins). Do you think she would be interested.

Many thanks

Iain

Hello,

Again, I want to recommend my cleaner of 4.5 years. She has a space available on Wednesday's for anyone living within 10-15 mins of Peckham Rye station, or near Underhill Road (as she's already working in those areas that day), and would be available to start as of next week.

Just to reiterate from my previous posts - I've recommended her in the past on here, and everyone's been really happy. I've recommended her to friends, my sister, and neighbours and they're thrilled with her too.

She is Bulgarian and while her english is limited, you can still have conversation, but she is lovely, incredibly polite, reliable and is such a hard worker, and consistently leaves the house sparkling and her standards have never slipped.

I have a 5 bed house and have her for 4 hours each week (used to have her for 3hrs for 3 bed before loft conversion), and she is so reliable, she does ironing, folds clothes incredibly neatly, and finds extra tasks to do that I don't expect - I'm not sure how she fits so much in.

If you're interested, it would be very helpful if you could please PM me your road name/postcode, how many hours you want her to work for, and any questions, and I'll double check with her if it's possible and pass on her number if she can do it. Think this is the easiest way as she only has one spot available it might get complicated if she's inundated with calls!

If you want to chat to me I'll happily provide a reference over the phone.

Thanks

Rachael

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other.
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
    • You've got a point.  Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
