gardener required

Hello, we live in a house on Ivydale Road, Nunhead and are starting some works to the ground floor of our house this October. As a result, the garden will be largely ruined and will need re-doing from scratch next summer (2016).

In the meantime however, we would like the garden (which has not been tended to since we moved in November) generally sprucing up for this summer. We do not want to do alot given the works in October but want it to be nice to enjoy for relaxing and bbqs etc this summer. I am guessing it is no more than a full day (perhaps 1.5 days') work, but best if you look.

In particular, it would involve the following:

1. tending to some overgrown flowerbeds;

2. perhaps repairing some fencing;

3. any other ideas you have for this summer only, at a relatively cheap cost; and

4. spot gluing a large rectangular off-cut of artificial grass I have sourced on top of some crazy paving in between the flower beds (I have spoken with the manufacturer and they have said this is the best temporary fix).

If interested, please call or text on 07958 310072. We would like the work doing as soon as possible, but would like a quote first (not just an hourly rate). You can come and look this weekend if interested.

thanks

Ben

    • I understand that, but I can't really grasp how it works in practice, but never mind 😵‍💫
    • It's local independent shops supporting one another.
    • Adding my recommendation for Niko too. Found his number on here and he came out at short notice on a busy weeknight to help us with a kitchen sink issue that had flooded our kitchen that day. Really helpful, responsive and went out of his way to fit us in and help us out. Very reasonably priced too - would thoroughly recommend!
    • Looks like it! Though according to the OP, they are "golden, hand-crimped parcels  packed with flavour" 😀 I don't understand. Admittedly my brain is functioning at a very low level at the moment. Does that mean various local shops get together and agree to offer a discount to anyone who shows them a receipt from one of the other ones dated the same day? I can't see what's in it for either of them, unless people shop somewhere they wouldn't otherwise have done just to get the discount. Is it for vaguely  linked things, say cheese from a cheese shop, wine from another shop? Showing my age there.  And then suppose it's always the same shop which people go to second to get the discount? What's in it for the first shop? People go there in order to get the discount in the second shop?
