Lightweight hiking shoes

I'm after some lightweight hiking shoes - does anyone have recommendations for a brand/style that is particularly good? I'm thinking maybe Merrell but there may well be other obscure but good brands I don't know about. Your advice would be much appreciated!

I'd recommend going to Cotswold Outdoor. In my experience their staff are knowledgable and not pushy. They're happy to let you try on as many pairs as you like and even try them at home (I think).

I absolutely love my Merrell. I teach classes in Dulwich park and they are sturdy yet lightweight at the same time and they look nice which is hard with hiking shoes.
