bobbsy
For the last two evenings, during evening peak hour around 6pm, there have been police with speed guns pulling over vehicles on Borough High Street between Borough and Elephant and Castle, catching drivers travelling south.I wonder if this will reach Dulwich and the 20mph zones. Loz
Are you sure they had speed guns? Out and about yesterday, I spotted two separate police groups pulling random cars over and doing some sort of check, but no speed cameras in sight. I think there might be something else afoot. bobbsy
Yes, speed guns - scooter was pulled over, police car parked in the centre, officer with speed gun talking to the scooter rider. Blah Blah
Sure it wasn't an ANPR check? Police tend to use one way roads for that. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/56541-speed-enforcement/#findComment-837802 Share on other sites
KidKruger
I thought all the insurance / driving licence / road tax / MOT checks could all now be done automatically by scanning the car number plate through fancy technology, removing need to pull folks over. rupert45
There are regular police checks on vehicles coming out of Rotherhithe Tunnel southside. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/56541-speed-enforcement/#findComment-837819 Share on other sites
Blah Blah
If a vehicle is taxed but not insured a fine is sent out. Driving without insurance though is a different offence to keeping a vehicle parked without insurance, and the vehicle is siezed as well. Can only do that with Police road blocks.
