No, not a wind up - tru fact

Today I witnessed a bearded fixie riding hipster scummer attempt to steal someones newly bought goodies at the big hospice charity shop today and walk with it - only to be stopped by the new owner as he was on his way out of the door, about to mount his bike .

No, it was not a mistake and no, he did not attempt to take the items to the till for payment

Theiving odds and sods from charity shops is obviously the new hipster done thing

Yup

Woman was waiting at the side of front door, inside the shop. goods all paid for, sitting in a little pile. Hipster walks past on way out, lifts one and walks out the door without realising she owned the stuff - Woman berates him loudly and he drops it back.

No doubt the Hatton Garden robbers wore hipster gear and Beards underneath the hard hats and Hi Vis jackets.

I say set this guy on them with his huge spanner.

    • I had this same query the other week - Mediquip no longer cover Southwark and I believe the company when bankrupt? Anyway, after some digging, I found the news on the adult social care page of Southwark Council website.  The new supplier of medical equipment that is issued to Southwark residents via an OT from the council or the NHS is Provide Equipment Hub.  I emailed them about returning two items and they did promptly respond and came and picked up the items the following week.  Email them at [email protected] Importantly, they will come and do urgent repairs of equipment like hospital beds.  I'm surprised that Southwark haven't made this change more widely known as it will impact many vulnerable residents.

    • Hello East Dulwich families 👋 I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m a professional family & wedding photographer with 14+ years of experience, and I split my time between the US and London throughout the year. I’ll be based in London for the coming weeks and would love to photograph more local families here in East Dulwich. My approach is very relaxed and natural — no stiff posing, no pressure — just real connection, movement, and the beautiful everyday moments that tell your family’s story. I work especially well with kids and parents who feel “awkward” in front of the camera (which honestly is most of us!). Sessions can take place at home, in the park, on your favourite street, or anywhere that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to create images that feel like your life — not a photoshoot. If anyone has been thinking about documenting this season with their children, I’d love to connect, answer questions, or simply share examples of my work. No pressure at all — just happy to be here and meet some neighbours. You can see my work here: https://bluesparkphotography.com/family/ (use the contact page on the site to send me a message if you're interested!).
