Just to save some of you some research:

Made a few phonecalls today about lunch on Sunday for me, Mrs, two kids aged 4 and 6. Results as follows:

Beauberry House - fixed price 3 course lunch menu ?32 each

Le Chardon - fixed price ?25 adult and ?17.95 for kids (even if four years old)

Cafe Rouge - ?19 adults, kids have normal kids menu (?8 i think)

Went for Cafe Rouge in West Dulwich as have been there quite a few times before and they treat children very well and the kids menu is excellent value for reasonable quality kids food. Also they said the mothers day fixed price was an additional choice and the normal menu was also available. Its a chain but I think the food is always reasonable standard if you are partial to French bistro food.

I thought beaubeery house was ok price wise as it is decent cuisine and location, although have not eaten there for a few years, but Le Chardon charging ?18 for a four year old I thought was really pushing it. Mrs M likes cafe rouge so she made the choice in the end.

All had availability so make your own choices.

PS - hope to have massive hangover on Mothers day if Ireland can win on Saturday (not really relevant or Mother loving, I know :))

    • Yes, it would be great to see them nationalised. Along with the other water companies they seem to have a great business model: -submit a 5 year plan to the regulator asking for yearly price increases to cover the cost of improving the infrastructure and get them to approve it - carry on paying handsome dividends to shareholders and eye watering salaries to senior executives  - fail to achieve the infrastructure targets at the end of the five years, make some excuses and draw up the next plan Magic!
    • Avoid KFH. Agree with other comments that it is best to talk to lots of people.  Also, (not particularly related to the above agent), I wish I had read the reviews a lot more, rather than relying on numbers.  Depending on whether you are renting, letting, selling or buying the reviews often differ a lot depending on the relationship you have with the agent and it is worth checking whether the good/bad reviews match your situation.
