Fidgetsmum
We have been in a brilliant nanny share for over 5 years. But 4yo goes to reception in September so both kids will then be at school so no need for full time care any more.I'm totally stuck as to what to do. Au pair fills me with dread (someone else living in house, multiple transitions of people over the next years etc) but it seems very hard to find anyone to just do pre and/or post school care. How did you do it? Any lessons learned? Any encouraging words that it will all be ok in the end? Any recommendations of where to look or what to look for? Yours, in fearFidgetsmum Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/56647-from-full-time-nanny-share-to-before-and-after-school-only-how/ Share on other sites
Coach Beth
One of my friends teenage daughter (17 years old) who lives in East Dulwich is taking a year off before university. Anyway, she will be looking for work doing after-school childcare from September 2015 as she will be free to pick up children and look after them from 3:30 - 6:30/7pmish. I spoke to her this weekend - and she also could do before school care and then dropping off at school She has babysat for my son for several years and she also babysits for several families in the area. She is very reliable and also good with kids - a fun older sister figure! If you PM me, I can give you her contact details. Mellors
We went for an au pair, who has been an absolute godsend in so many ways, has now been with us for a year and will be staying for another year at least. Its not always hard work! BeccaL
If you can't do breakfast/after school club then childminder - nice environment for them as homely atmosphere.
