Last year I declined a place through the eadmissions website, IIRC there is a button next to the offer with accept/decline on? but also needed to call the school as they started sending me welcome packs etc, not sure how long it takes for the message to be filtered through.

General advice is not to decline an unwanted allocated school as you 'drop' out of the system. Better to accept and be on waiting lists for those schools above it on your initial application.

If you are opting into the private sector or moving out of the area completely or home-schooling then decline away. Otherwise seek advice from Renata or James, the local councillors who are always on the school place threads and know the system inside out.

    • We're looking for a second hand / ex display kitchen to install late November / early December. If anyone is renovating / getting a new kitchen in the next month and looking to sell on or get rid of their old units and appliances please do get in touch. Many thanks
    • I got in a right tizz last night, thinking 'this fireworks business is worse than ever tonight, it's outrageous!' ....then realised what date it was... We gave Kalms to the mutt, thanks to Angelina's advice. It's hard to tell after just one night if they work, but I'll definitely try them again, as I'm sure a few people still have a few bangers left over.  Did anyone see the coverage of the scenes in Liverpool and Birmingham? I wonder if this might lead councils to finally clamp down on sales.
    • Yes heard a whisper a few months ago.had many mots and services there. .heard dels will be replaced with a house?
    • Ah, that's a shame. Best wishes to them. They nursed my old 19-year-old Peugeot through many an MOT and were always friendly and helpful.
