So impressed with this referral service. My appointment was made for me by a nurse at my doctors practice at 3pm( after a phone conversation/interview- triage??) My appointment was at 6pm I was seen at 6pm.

Have used it a couple of times with my children & am similarly full of praise for it - for minor/acute illness is a fab and saves so much time especially with them running to time!

Would take huge pressure off A&E if more people used their GP to access it.

Very glad it's working as it's supposed to (I haven't had to use it - yet). It's a very good initiative and I've tried to persuade my GP surgery to make the service better known, particularly amongst those people who are not regular users of the surgery and therefore don't see posters about it there.

What do you mean with the referral service?

You mean when you call the surgery for an urgent thing (for example a sick child) and they see you the same day? (Or alternatively they're quite good at giving you a telephone appt if that's appropriate). I agree that service is good.

If you call for a normal appointment you will only be seen next week though!

I think it's because it was my Dr in Herne Hill who was full and they triaged me on the phone and then they made the appointment for me.
