Gas Hob and Gas/Electric Oven replacement

Hello, wondered if anyone can offer advice.

I have a relatively old kitchen, with separate fitted gas hob and fitted gas oven (with electric grill). I'd like to replace both these items but not quite sure how to go about it as haven't looked at these before.

Do I just buy something of similar dimensions from a retailer and find a gas engineer to fit? Is there anything I should be aware of beforehand? Or do I find someone to come around and quote on replacement including fitting? Would anyone have any recomendations of fitters?

Many thanks!

Yes, definitely

Dave Nichols of Pegasus Domestic Appliance Repair Limited. A really good guy who gives you lots of info & explains everything! I really recommend him:

Dave kept me up-to-date, contacted me on both e-mail & phone - very handy as I wasn't in the country! He fitted my gas hob & electrical oven.

Good Luck.

    • Agreed, he should not be held accountable over the mess up over release of prisoners. On the other hand he did himself no favours with his gaffes on the BBC Master Mind programme where he passed on five questions. Where he did answer, here are some of his responses.... When asked who succeeded Henry VIII, Lammy incorrectly answered “Henry VII,” When asked which French scientist won Nobel prizes for both physics and chemistry?” Lammy responded with “Antoinette” When asked which fortress was built to defend Paris and later used as a prison, he answered “Versailles". When asked which variety of blue English cheese is often taken with port, he answered "Leicester" If nothing else he was entertaining.
    • Why do you think he should be toast? All these problems with the prison service apparently go way back, long before Labour took over.
